\nIt is our pleasure to announce that Transactions of the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers (ISICE) will feature a special issue on Flexible Automation.\n<\/p>\n

\nSpecial Issue of the Transactions of the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers (ISCIE)
\n<\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\nFlexible Automation (FA) encompasses automation technologies that adapt to dynamic changes in manufacturing environments. Recently, its scope has expanded significantly through the integration of Data Science, AI, and Cyber-Physical Systems, addressing global challenges such as carbon neutrality and sustainability.<\/p>\n

This special issue focuses on cutting-edge research spanning industry, academia, and government. We invite original contributions ranging from fundamental theory to practical applications in flexible automation. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: smart manufacturing (ICT\/IoT), human-centered systems, and autonomous distributed control.\n<\/p>\n
