Special Issue on Flexible Automation

It is our pleasure to announce that Transactions of the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers (ISICE) will feature a special issue on Flexible Automation.

Special Issue of the Transactions of the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers (ISCIE)

Flexible Automation (FA) encompasses automation technologies that adapt to dynamic changes in manufacturing environments. Recently, its scope has expanded significantly through the integration of Data Science, AI, and Cyber-Physical Systems, addressing global challenges such as carbon neutrality and sustainability.

This special issue focuses on cutting-edge research spanning industry, academia, and government. We invite original contributions ranging from fundamental theory to practical applications in flexible automation. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: smart manufacturing (ICT/IoT), human-centered systems, and autonomous distributed control.
